School Admissions

Acceptance
To be accepted into the cosmetology or nail technician programs, an applicant must be at least 17 years old.  Additionally, applicant must submit proof of either a G.E.D or high school diploma prior to admission.

Potential Career Paths

A trained cosmetologist, licensed by the state to practice cosmetic arts, is eligible for many diverse career opportunities.  This could range from a position in a professional beauty salon to managing or owning a salon.  You can work on a cruise ship.  Teach in a school or for a beauty products manufacturer.  You might even become a hair and makeup stylist to a high profile individual or organization.  Indeed, many options become available to those who graduate as trained, licensed cosmetologists.

Your Cosmotologist Career Plan
First you must complete your cosmetology training and graduate from a professional beauty school like Shenandoah Beauty Academy.  In order to accomplish this goal, a prescribed number of course hours are required.  Once this is accomplished, you must qualify for a state license or certification (laws vary from state to state).  It's as simple as that!
